Fruit Crisp With An Oatmeal Crumble

One of my favorite deserts is a good old fashioned apple crisp and so I wanted to try a crisp recipe with an oat crumble on the top. This recipe is very different from anything I have tried in the past but I like it! It tastes so delicious and takes care of the craving for a decadent desert without spending two hours of baking and heating up the oven. With this fruit crisp recipe, you can savor a yummy treat in just 5 minutes!

I made both an apple crisp

and a blueberry crisp

Serves: single serve crisps

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

  • 1 tbsp allergy free butter substitute, softened

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp white sugar

  • 2 tbsp quick 1 minute oats

  • 2 tsp flour of choice

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Peel and cut the apple/wash the blueberries.

  2. Place the fruit in a bowl. Add cinnamon and sugar to the fruits and mix until they are thoroughly coated.

  3. Microwave the apple for 1-2 minutes. The blueberries do not need to be microwaved at this point.

  4. In a separate bowl, stir the allergy free butter substitute, vanilla, sugar, oats, flour, and cinnamon together.

  5. Take the apples out of the microwave and put the berries/apples into serving bowls. (I used an individual baking dish) Hand sprinkle the topping on the fruit.

  6. Put the dish back into the microwave for another 1-2 minutes. Let cool before eating them since they will be very hot. Enjoy!

*DON'T OVER HEAT THE BERRIES BECAUSE THIS MIGHT HAPPEN

My favorite had to be the blueberry crisp because I thought that the oats in the topping complemented the blueberries very well. The taste was so unique and delicious!

Leave a comment letting me know which fruit is your favorite to make crisps and crumbles with. The possibilities are endless.
